Man uses backpack-mounted drill to tap a maple tree. A spout with a hook will be inserted into the hole, and the sap bucket will hang from the hook. A flexible metal lid will cover the bucket to protect sap from rain and ebris. Photograph by James Fynmore. 1965. Boonville, NY. Courtesy of the Adirondack Experience.
