The original Forge House hotel. A horse-drawn wagon in front of the entrance was used to transport people and baggage. The buckboard wagon style was invented in the Adirondacks, to carry passengers and gear. The style was soon adopted throughout rural America. Circa 1870-1880. Old Forge, NY. Taken by George H.
